Tungsten trioxide is stable in air, insoluble in water and inorganic acids except hydrofluoric acid, can slowly dissolve in ammonia and hot and concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. The reaction was heated to produce chlorine oxides with chlorine, but could not reacted with iodide and bromine.
